Literacy Theme Week

Every January 27th is Family Literacy Day.  Family Literacy Day was envisioned to encourage families to read and learn together.  We celebrate this day and the rest of the week in our classes doing literacy activities.  This year, we are going to have some theme days throughout the week to celebrate reading and literacy.

Monday, January 25: "Reading Will Knock Your Socks Off Day":  Wear your wildest and/or mismatched socks.
Tuesday, January 26:  "Be a Fan of Reading Day":  Wear sports or team clothing.
Wednesday, January 27:  "Wild About Reading Day":  Wear animal print clothes or camouflage.
Thursday, January 28:  "Reading Makes You Bright":  Wear brightly coloured clothing.
Friday, January 29:  "Words, Words, Words":  Wear something with words printed on it.

Students can participate in as many theme days as they choose.  Teachers will also be doing other fun literacy activities during the week.
